February 14th – Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, a time set aside to more fully align ourselves toward the Lord, through extra prayer, fasting, and works of charity.
We will celebrate Mass on campus at 12 noon in the Tabler Black Box. For those whose class or work schedule prevents attendance at Mass, we will have three prayer services that day:  3 PM5 PM, and 7 PM on the fifth floor of the Melville Library, N5560.

Ashes will be distributed at both the Mass and prayer services.  The ashes that we bless  are a  visible sign of a divine invitation: to turn (or re-turn) our lives more deeply towards a loving God who wants to embrace us and whose heart is waiting to welcome us back.  For this reason, priests will be available to hear confessions throughout the afternoon in our Catholic chapel, Melville Library Room N5573.
