#TBT – Commissioning Mass
Presenting some of the newest members of Stony Brook’s liturgical ministry team! Students were blessed and commissioned at last Sunday’s Mass as lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers, sacristans, and members of the music ministry. We are grateful for their witness and commitment to our Catholic community on campus and pray that they may joyfully fulfill their duties with integrity and responsibility.
We had a great time and just about every student completed a set of rosary beads to take home or give as a gift to someone.
#TBT – Newman Rosary Night
A big thank you to to the Rosary Makers of St James Church in Setauket for being our guests at Monday evening’s Newman Club. They donated all materials and supplies to us and patiently taught the art of rosary making. Counting and stringing the beads was easy , but learning how to tie the knots was not!
A Warm Welcome to Cody Bobick, Seminarian
Please join us in welcoming Cody Bobick, a seminarian of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, to Stony Brook’s Catholic Campus Ministry.
A native of Wantagh, Cody attended Hofstra University, where he was involved with their Newman Club and Catholic Campus Ministry. He entered the seminary right after college and has completed five years so far. He is spending his pastoral year serving at Our Lady of the Snow Parish in Blue Point and will return to the seminary afterwards for a final year of study. He is hoping to be ordained to the priesthood in June 2019.
Cody is excited to have the opportunity to join our college ministry and form relationships with the students. We welcome him to our Stony Brook Catholic community!
The presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is central to our faith as Catholics. Time spent with the Lord in prayer and adoration is a unique moment to open our hearts to His grace in our lives.
There will be a Holy Hour on Friday, October 13th, at 7 PM, at St John the Baptist High School in West Islip. Please plan to join in prayer and experience the power of His presence.
