STONY BROOK CATHOLIC CAMPUS MINISTRY
October 20th – 22nd
The semester began only three weeks ago, but many of us feel over-scheduled already! We sometimes become so focused on calendars and activities, programs and tangible results, that we neglect our spiritual lives.
But busyness that is not rooted in God often becomes empty, frenetic activity. We can restore balance by taking a step back, a slight retreat, and put God back where He belongs, at the center of everything. And although we certainly don’t need to go elsewhere to hear God speaking to us, it is often easier to focus with less distractions competing for our attention.
CCM’s Fall Retreat is scheduled for the weekend of October 20th-22ndat Blair Lodge in Putnam Valley, NY. Join us for this student-led retreat as we deepen our relationship with God and work on building a strong Catholic community with one another.
The $50, all-inclusive retreat fee is due by Monday, October 9th
. We will be organizing a carpool for transportation to and from Blair Lodge. Email Joanne Buonocore

We’d love for you to join us!
We had a great turnout for our second Catholic Campus Mass today (Sunday 9/10). We thank you all for coming and hope you can join us again next Sunday.
Join us tomorrow for Newman Club at 7pm on the fifth floor of the Melville Library room N5560. Signups for our Bethel Hobbs Farm Service Opportunity will be available for those interested. Bethel-Hobbs is a volunteer-based ministry that provides for those in need by donating all produce grown at the farm to food pantries and soup kitchens. We will be traveling out there Saturday the 16th and will be there from 9:30am-2pm. If you would like to go, please get in touch with us through our Facebook or stop by the Catholic Campus Ministry office on the 5th floor of the Melville Library room N5576.
Weekly prayers and Tuesday night mass start this week. See our “Home” section of the website for the schedule. The prayer sessions are student run, and both prayer sessions/mass are open to all!
Also starting this week are small groups, where students come together to read passages from the scriptures and learn more about the Catholic faith together. They are a great way learn more about yourself and connect with God, as well as a way to make new friends!
