Spring 2016-Week of January 24th

Welcome back everyone! We hope that you enjoyed your winter break and that you are as excited to dive into the new semester as we are!

Over the winter break a small group of students attended ETC South, an evangelical training camp where the students learned how to lead evangelization small groups centered around Jesus and the scriptures. Five small groups will begin this semester, each held in a different residence hall on campus. More information about the small groups will be provided at Sunday Mass!

The Dominican Republic Mission Trip was a success! Eighteen students from Stony Brook, LIU Post, and Hofstra traveled to Hondo Valle to spread the hope of Christ through service and love. The students went on home visits, spent time with the children of the community, and helped build new houses for some of those in need. The students agreed that through their service they learned a lot about their faith, the beautiful spirits of the people of Hondo Valle, and about our mission as children of God. During the spring break ten students will be traveling to Tennessee to serve the spiritual and material needs of those living in some of the most impoverished counties in the South and Appalachia.

Last but not least, our first Sunday Mass of the semester will be held on Sunday, January 24th at 5:00PM in the Union Ballroom. We can’t wait to see you all!
